Subjects

We offer a variety of performance based subjects across our centres and schools. Our curriculum allows for a large amount of creative freedom and our lesson plans are structured in such a way that all of our students walk away with a practical and working knowledge of the material at hand.

Starlit Voice provides integrated LAMDA Performance and Communication Programmes to ensure that learners are rewarded with an international qualification. We embrace the examination process as another opportunity for students to share their creativity with others while keeping the experience as enjoyable as any class activity.

LAMDA Drama
The LAMDA Drama Programmes at Starlit Voice are designed to excite and engage learners, building the techniques necessary for both clear confident communication and expressive performance. Regardless of age, learners will develop interpretive, technical and key interactive skills in an energetic, creative and fun environment. Integrating both LAMDA Performance and Communication syllabi into our programmes also ensures that all learners have the opportunity to showcase their skills with the platform of an internationally recognised qualification.
Musical Theatre
Combining acting, song and movement, the LAMDA Musical Theatre programme and Starlit Voice will bring out the performer in everyone. Each learner will participate and build confidence both as an individual and as part of an ensemble. This extremely versatile and exciting genre will develop each learner’s ability to confidently communicate through three different forms of performance. The LAMDA Musical Theatre syllabus presents a clear performance platform that carries international recognition.
Public Speaking
In a nutshell, students will learn how to use their voices to communicate an idea through a strong grasp of diction, vocal projection and clarity of voice, while learning to use posture and body language to better get the message across. They will develop a deep understanding of the given literature and the ability to interpret any other they may come across in future.

LAMDA DRAMA COURSE
LAMDA Drama (Years 1-5, 6-8 and 9 – 12)

The LAMDA Drama programme focuses on the development of key areas of speech and drama. Learners will grow in confidence and increase their powers of communication through a combination of group and individual focused work. Using the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) syllabi in Performance and Communication learners will be able to acquire the skills to deliver an effective performance in a variety of situations.

Musical Theatre (Years 1-5)

This is an introduction to the world of Musical Theatre. Drawing on key works from the musical theatre repertoire, young performers will develop musicality both with a group and individual focus. Emphasis will be on acting through song and the fundamentals of relevant stagecraft. There is the option of taking either a group or solo examination in Musical theatre with LAMDA.

Musical Theatre (Years 6-8 and 9-12)

This programme is designed to connect with and engage performers with a passion for both acting and singing. Learners on this programme will receive tuition from different specialist industry practitioners. Through a combination of material drawn from Musical Theatre shows such as Hamilton and Hairspray and other music and dramatic texts, the perfect environment will be created to develop the multi-disciplined performer.

Shakespeare Performance (Years 3-5)

This programme introduces learners to some of the most famous plays and their characters. Learners will engage with Shakespeare’s text, learn how to act and deliver Shakespearean verse and explore the themes and the worlds that he created. Individuals have the option to take a LAMDA Shakespeare examination.

LAMDA Public Speaking  (Years 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12)

Following the London Academy of Dramatic Art Speaking in Public syllabus, this programme is focused on developing presentation skills, persuasive speaking and performance. Learners will develop the skills necessary for effective oral communication and public presentation. These examinations will benefit native English speakers as well as those for whom English is a second language.
