Originally born in the USA, Kendra grew up in Hong Kong before returning to the USA for university. While at Wellesley College, she studied directing, Japanese dance, ballet, opera and movement, ultimately graduating with a dual degree in Theatre and Economics in 2018. While at university, she also translated the Chinese opera Pear Blossom Dream. Since graduation, she has worked with Boston-area theatre companies as a dramaturg in the Umbrella Stage Company’s The Joy Luck Club and as assistant director in Mass Opera’s Die Fledermaus. More recently, she worked at the Charles River Museum in Boston, coaching first-time Shakespeare actors in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She looks forward to cultivating the next generation of theatre makers.
