A Day in Fairyland

The story of A Day in Fairyland is fairly simple. Essentially the tale is about a group of Faeries who have gathered around the Faerie Circle on behalf of the Faerie Queen, who has requested them to find her a child to take through the door of the Faerie Circle and into the Faerie Realm. The Faeries discuss how they could collect the child, and what each of them in turn feels about this task, regaling tales along the way.

In the end the messenger of the Faeries, the Sylph, attempts to lead a child the Faerie Realm, but the Zhu Que, who acts as the protector and friend to the children, stops all the Faeries from leading the child away, and sends them back to the Faerie Realm.

“We are called by the Faerie Queen,
To dew he orbs upon the green.
Come away for time is scarce,
We must deal with her affairs.”
